Enter the Reflections Art Contest!

Does your child enjoy art, music, dance or have an interest in writing, producing films, or taking photos? Then encourage your Dragon to create and share an original work of art inspired by the 2021-2022 Reflections theme “I Will Change the World By…”

They can virtually submit one piece in any/all of the arts categories (Dance, Film, Literature, Music, Photography and/or Visual Arts).

Entries and Student Entry Forms are due by Wednesday, Nov 24th.

Students who submit their work will have the opportunity to advance to the county, state and national levels for prizes and scholarships, but all student works will be celebrated and shared. Harris Teeter Fundraiser

It's time to link your Harris Teeter VIC card to start earning $$ for DuFief. VIC cards can be linked to up to 5 schools, but you must sign up each year.

Last year 20 families earned $315.69 for DuFief just by linking their VIC card and shopping at Harris Teeter.

Let Harris Teeter know that you appreciate their Together in Education program that supports local schools. This is the only local grocery store chain in the area that still donates a portion of sales to local schools.

Chess Club Interest

Russian Chess Master Victor Sherman would like to offer a Winter Chess Club session at DuFief on Mondays before school.

PTA Volunteers Are Still Needed!

Ability Awareness Week Volunteers

We are looking for several parent volunteers to help when our speakers come in. Volunteers will greet their assigned speaker as he or she arrives. Volunteers will also give speakers their welcome gift bags and escort them to their classroom. After the first 30 minute session, volunteers will escort speakers to their next classroom for the second session.

MCCPTA Special Education Committee Representatives

Wanted: PTA volunteers for each school - people committed to helping their special needs community by serving as the Special Education Representative on their school's PTA.

Box Tops for Education and Amazon Smiles Volunteers

Volunteers are also needed to help out with the Box Tops for Education and Amazon Smiles fundraising programs. Both roles require little time and effort and will help raise greatly needed funds for the school. If you’re interested or have any questions, please email Jennifer at ng.jennifer@gmail.com.

Substitutes Needed!

If you have 60 college credits or an associates degree, you can apply to be substitute with MCPS. If you enjoy working with kids, have a strong interest in teaching, and want to help your community, apply today to become a substitute teacher with Montgomery County Public Schools!
