Message from the President

Dear DuFief Dragon Families,

On behalf of the DuFief ES PTA Board, we would like to extend a warm welcome to all new and returning families. We hope you had a wonderful summer, and we are excited to get things back to normal after such an unusual school year.

The PTA is hosting a Back To School Picnic on Friday, September 9 from 5pm to 7pm. It is located at the blacktop outside of the gym/cafeteria. Paisano's Pizza will be available for purchase and credit cards are accepted. Please bring your own water. The PTA will have a table set up and we will be available to answer questions. Please consider joining the board. We need you!

The DuFief ES PTA is an integral part of the school. We are a non-profit volunteer organization which serves to support the students, teachers, and staff at DuFief Elementary School. I would like to encourage you to join our PTA. Joining the PTA does not mean you have to volunteer or serve as a board member. This allows you the opportunity to participate in the decisions that impacts your child's education.

As a result of the incredible support from parents, teachers, staff and the community last year, we hosted DuFief’s Got Talent, fundraised for DuFief families in need through food drives, held coat drives for MCPS families, provided gift cards to show staff appreciation, and more.

This year we will be working hard to bring back all the wonderful events and activities while following MC/MCPS guidelines. With your support, we are considering the following events for this year:

15% of all day sales will be donated to DuFief ES PTA. Tell your employers to order staff lunches to help us raise more money. DuFief teachers and staff - please consider ordering lunch/dinner that day. Share this fundraising event with all your friends and families in social media. More details to follow.

Harris Teeter Fundraiser

It's time to link your Harris Teeter VIC card to start earning $$ for DuFief. VIC cards can be linked to up to 5 schools, but you must sign up each year.

Last school year, 22 families earned $217.91 for DuFief just by linking their VIC card and shopping at Harris Teeter.

Let Harris Teeter know that you appreciate their Together in Education program that supports local schools. This is the only local grocery store chain in the area that still donates a portion of sales to local schools.
